Mathew Anderson’s ‘Wrist EP’ launches KRecordings with remix and mastering services provided by Angel Alanis. “Wrist” is a deep techno house stormer with somber vocals which asks “are you listening” in a haunting but emotive & new wave style.
Angel Alanis’ remix reworks the track into a dark, brooding, squelchy ode to the Detroit classics.
The rest of Mat’s “Wrist” EP showcases his versatility and understanding of house, techno, soul as well as disco.Mathew Anderson’s “Wrist” EP is set to launch officially New Years Day 2012 digitally and will be available on Beatport, iTunes and other fine dance music retailers. The EP will include 4 featured trax plus additional bonus trax. A limited edition vinyl version will also be released this Spring that will include original music by Mathew Anderson and 214 with remixes by Angel Alanis and Ulysses and mastering by Dietrich Schoenemann at Completed Mastering.
‘KRecordings, a new local label headed by veteran techno DJs/promoters James Grindle and Travis Baron, debuts with Seattle producer Mathew Anderson’s Wrist EP. The six tracks here – including a staunchly bumpin’ remix of the title cut by Chicago’s Angel Alanis – take minimal techno into eerie and erotic territory with utmost grace and efficiency. Fans of Josh Wink, Luke Slater, and Jacob London, take note.’ Posted to The Stranger’s ‘LINEout’ blog by DAVE SEGAL TUE, NOV 29, 2011.
